Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) at Detroit Lions (4-2) Ford Field.
It’s 1st in the AFC North vs 1st in the NFC North as the Bengals and Lions go head to head.
The Bengals are on a two game winning streak right now after wins over New England and Buffalo. QB Andy Dalton may not be the first name on everyones fantasy team sheet but the Cincinnati No.14 is going about his business without any fuss in an offense that is ranked 11th overall. Dalton was productive last week throwing for 337 yards and 3 touchdowns, his best figures this season. WR AJ Green had his best game since week 1. Green had 3 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown.
The Cincinnati defense don’t give up too many points, just 14.5 per game. OLB Vontaze Burfict leads the way with 61 combined tackles. DT Geno Atkins and DE Carlos Dunlap each have 4 sacks this season.
Head coach Jim Schwartz is in search for the Lions second straight win after coming off a 31-17 win in Cleveland. QB Matthew Stafford threw for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns last week. With WR Clavin Johnson and the dual threat of RB Reggie Bush on the offense, the Lions are a match for anybody on their day. Johnson is listed as probable (knee).
The defense may only be ranked at 26th in the NFL but OLB DeAndre Levy has 4 picks this season. The Lions have 10 takeaways in total. They will be looking to add to those numbers as Andy Dalton fires out wide to AJ Green. Green is a major threat and the Lions secondary are going to have to be on their game.
This one could boil down to who wants the “W” the most. No one is talking about this game in week 7 but it has all the ingredients for some good play on both sides of the football.
Cincinnati - AJ Green, he will be a likely outlet for Andy Dalton.
Detroit - Reggie Bush, the running back has the ability to carry the ball or make smart runs into the passing channels.
Houston Texans (2-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (6-0) Arrowhead Stadium
It’s the best pass defense in the league versus the 2nd best pass defense in the league.
The Texans may rely on the running game to get the points on the board by going to RB Arian Foster (531 yards). The issues at QB is will documented. Matt Schaub and TJ Yates have both thrown pick sixes which have been costly. WR Andre Johnson has 44 receptions (the most in the league) but he still waiting for his first touchdown. TE Owen Daniels and TE Garrett Graham each have 3 touchdowns this season.
The Texans have great leadership on the defense field with ILB Brian Cushing and DE JJ Watt. The defense has only two picks this season, a stat that will have to improve as the weeks go by.
Matt Schaub is out (ankle). Arian Foster is probable (hamstring). Andre Johnson is probable (shin).
Alex Smith will be in no mood to let the Kansas City unbeaten record disappear in week 7. The running game has improved at the Arrowhead lead by RB Jamal Charles, he has carried for 475 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging 79.2 yards a game. Charles is just 10 yards short of WR Donnie Avery’s numbers of 310 receiving yards.
The Chiefs have had a formidable defense this season and is regarded as the biggest strength in Andy Reid’s locker. Last week they sacked Terrelle Pryor 10 times. OLB Jim Houston has 9.5 Sacks this season closely followed behind ny OLB Tamba Hali with 6.5. Chiefs who have the 5th best rush defense will look to stop the run of Arian Foster.
Donnie Avery is listed as probable (shoulder).
The Arrowhead faithful may be expecting another win this week but don’t expect the Texans to lie down without a fight.
Houston - Arian Foster, if the Texans struggle to pass the football, Foster will be their biggest threat to the Chiefs.
Kansas City - Jim Houston, if he can take care of the football and keep the Texans offense on the side lines it could be a long day for the visitors.
Denver Broncos (6-0) at Indionapolis Colts (4-2) Lucas Oil Stadium
This preview is going to be short. Unless you have just spent a week in deepest Siberia you will have heard all the build up and thoughts from both franchises. Despite all the talk about Peyton Manning going back to his former home and how the new man in town (Andrew Luck) will perform, there are plenty of other football players that will contribute to this game.
If you look at the Broncos roster it is packed with quality. WR Wes Welker has 8 touchdowns and RB Knowshon Moreno has 7 touchdowns.
CB Champ Bailey is listed as probable for this (foot) as is Wes Welker (ankle) and Eric Decker (shoulder).
Andrew Luck will be well and truly under the spotlight tonight. Colts OC Pep Hamilton will not want to see dropped catches that cost the Colts on the road in San Diego. Reggie Wayne and TY Hilton will look to get into sync with Luck as they look to tear up the script and make Manning’s return one to forget for him.
The impressive OLB Robert Mathis won’t care too much for sentiment, he will be looking to add to his 9.5 sacks for this season.
If the game lives up to the media hype people will be talking about this one all week and beyond. There won’t be many missing this game.
It would be wrong not say it’s all about how the Quarterbacks will perform in the impressive Lucas Oil Stadium.
