NCAA College Football Preview - Oklahoma Sooners at Baylor Bears
No.12 Oklahoma (7-1 4-1) at No.5 Baylor (7-0 4-0)
Week 11 kicks off in the Big 12 with a huge game. The Sooners travel to Waco, Tx in the Thursday night kick off. The visitors and the hosts sit 3rd and 2nd in the BIG 12 Conference respectively.
Oklahoma are on a two game winning streak will be all too wary of the formidable offense that the Bears have. The Sooners have a 50th overall defense and a 10th overall offence in collegiate football, this for a team ranked 10th in the current BCS standings.
Junior quarterback Blake Bell had his second best game of the season in week 10, he threw for 259 yards and two passing touchdown. Running back Brennan Clay and wide receiver Jalen Suanders or going to have to be at their best tomorrow night. Saunders, the Sooners No.8 had six receptions for 153 yards and two touchdown receptions against Texas Tech last time out. Head coach Bob Stoops will be encouraging his offense not to waste possession; the chances are they will spend more time on the sidelines. The defense are going to have their work cut out, they are the 5th best in the league against passing yards per attempt (5.68).
Baylor are 1st in passing yards per game, 417. Junior quarterback Bryce Petty had a great game last week at Kansas. He threw for 430 yards and three passing touchdowns, he also ran into the end zone from five yards. Baylor can also boast the highest average points per game in college football, 63.9. Keep an eye out for senior wide receiver Tevin Reese, he has 33 receptions for 824 yards this season. In all but two of his games he had received for more than 100 yards with his best coming against Kansas State for a $1.84.
This is going to be an intriguing game of football. Baylor has been stacking up the points but this will be their sternest test yet. Everyone is sitting up ready and waiting to see what the No.6 ranked team can do against a good top ten ranked side.
