Week 9 is going to be a big test for Penn State (4-2 1-1) as they travel to the Ohio Stadium to take on No.4 Ohio State (7-0 3-0).
The Lions go into the game coming off the back of an epic win over Michigan in 4OT (40-43). On paper this game looks like it's an Ohio state win, nailed on. Since when were football games ever won anywhere but the football field?
Coach O'Brien has a great opportunity to have a look at how the Lions hold up against a top College football team. It will be particularly interesting to see how QB Christian Hackenberg and WR Allen Robinson shape up. The promising QB has thrown for 1672 yards for 11 touchdowns and 11 picks. Allen Robinson has 43 receptions for 705 yards and 5 touchdowns.
The defense are going to have to contain the Ohio State running and passing game, easier said than done as none of the previous Buckeye opponents have managed to stop them racking up 45 points a game (average). Jordan Hall and Carlos Hyde are as formidable running the football as Corey Brown and Devin Smith are at completing receptions on the passing game.
Penn State are marginally better than Ohio St. in the rush (117 yards to 92.4) but the Buckeyes have superior stats on 3rd down conversions and the passing game.
The Buckeyes won't take the Lions lightly, head coach Urban Meyer won't be looking any further than tomorrow's game, their unbeaten record will be defended at all costs.
