Week 7 turned out to be an absolute nightmare for some franchises. Injuries to key players on the roster have left head coaches with the headache of trying to find a suitable replacement.
There has been much discussion on which team will be affected the most. Everyone will have their own opinion and stance on the subject. Any franchise is equally going to feel the loss of a key player. Personally if I had to chose such a key injury it would be for the Texans and the loss of linebacker Brian Cushing. If I was a football GM he would be one of my main draft targets.
A collision with Jamaal Charles resulted in a torn lateral collateral ligament (LCL) and a broken leg. Rehabilitation is going to be a patient process for Cushing, this is the second such injury in as many seasons.
The linebacker is a massive influence inside the Texans locker room and on the football field. Not one to shy away, his presence within the football team is one of an NFL veteran of twice his experience. Even though JJ Watt is there, Houston are going to find it that little bit more difficult without a player like hard hitting Brian Cushing.
It is never nice to see anyone get injured. The sport deserves to have high quality talent on display. The injury rosters are piling up right now and let’s hope that all those sat in the medical room have a speedy and successful recovery.
